Refrigeration Decks

* Make sure you have these units installed by a 'qualified technician'. When your deck arrives please let it sit upright for at least 24 hours. When we ship these decks UPS has a tendency to roll them or transport them upside down. This causes the refrigerant to drain into the valves and other parts of the compressor unit where it does not belong. Should you install and power up these decks before the proper waiting period in an upright position you could cause the compressor to fail. Should this situation happen it voids the warranty on the unit. If you install these decks yourself it is very easy to bend or kink the tubing on the refrigeration lines. We have had several customer kink the lines and have the refrigerant leak out due to lack of proper handling during installation. Do not lift the evaporator piece (upper part with tubing attached) by itself as this will place all the weight of the lower unit on the tubing which can be fragile, Should the lines become kinked and the refrigerant leak out due to user error it voids the warranty on the unit. All warranty decks must be returned to Vending World in a timely manner. After the warranty deck has been returned should it be found to be caused by user error then the customer will be charged for the replacement deck. If you follow these basic directions and take care when removing and installing the unit it should be a fairly simple task to install a refurbished unit from us at a fraction of the cost of new. Lately we have had a larger number than normal of people installing their own decks to try to save money with less than desirable results. This is why we had decided to post these basic instructions, to help you avoid some of the pitfalls of causing damage to a refurbished unit. In the event you damage your replacement deck by improper installation (and void your warranty) we can provide you with the name and number of our outside refrigeration tech that can repair your unit at a more reasonable cost than buying another unit.

*Late model two deep (model 300) Dixie Narco decks can be used to replace early style decks (model 400). You will need to drill a new mounting hole in your cabinet to bolt down the unit with a self tapping screw or a bolt and a nut. All other mounts are the same.
